RIP Heavy D

WYRAS expresses deepest condolences to the family of Dwight "Heavy D" Myers who passed away today at the age of 44. Cause of death is currently unknown.  Heavy D  was born in Jamaica, and migrated to New York as a child.  He is well known for his contribution to hip hop and reggae music in the 1990s.  Fans of his music will remember hits such as "Nuttin but Love"," Now That We've Found Love", "Mr Big Stuff" "Dem Nuh Worry We" and countless others.  Heavy D went on to pursue an acting career where he had recurring roles on TV  sitcoms such as ROC, Living Single, The Tracy Morgan Show, to name a few. He then went on to take roles on the big screen and on stage.  Heavy D most recently performed at the BET Hip Hop Awards in October where he took us back to the 90s with his popular hits, and suave dance moves. For a man his size he sure could move! This is surely a surprise and the music community, and fans worldwide are shocked as we all mourn his passing.  RIP to the Overweight Lover, Heavy D.
