Our Favorite Beres Hammond Songs

One of our earlier blog posts critiqued Busy Signal's rendition of the classic Beres Hammond song 'Tempted to Touch'.  The song was actually recorded for Donovan Germain's tribute album project.  The album will be a double CD album featuring covers of Beres Hammond's most popular hits recorded during his over 30 year career.  It will include artistes like: Tessanne Chin, Lukie D, Singing Melody, Tarrus Riley, Nikki Burt, Duane Stephenson, Sherieta, Stevie Face, Cameal Davis, Romain Virgo, Alaine, Jah Cure, Marcia Griffiths, Torch, Nadine Sutherland, Hezron, AJ Brown, Tony Curtis and Richie Stephens.  Among the songs to be covered are:  Step Aside, Putting Up Resistance, Double Trouble, Sweet Lies, Rockaway and others.  The album will be available on VP Records on April 26th.  I am torn on this.  Hammond is such an immensely talented artiste. Many of his songs are classics, and hold dear memories.  While many of those featured are talented in their own rite it will be interesting to hear his songs sung by others.
