Bob Marley: Celebrating the Life of an Icon
When you think of Jamaica, one of the people that automatically come to mind is Bob Marley. He garnered international acclaim with his social, and political commentary, and most of all for his music. In his life and almost 30 years posthumously, Bob Marley has built an empire, that was surely ahead of his time. His music is classic and timeless, and known worldwide. He continues to sell albums, including his recently released live recording Bob Marley & The Wailers–Live Forever: The Stanley Theatre, Pittsburgh. As a child growing up in a Jamaican household, Bob Marley's music was a staple in our home. No Saturday was complete without hearing Jeff Barnes play 'Three Little Birds" on WLIB. Today on what would have been his 66th birthday, WYRAS would like to join the world in wishing Bob Marley a Happy Birthday! We salute you, and honor your memory, for what you did for Jamaica, and for music. In closing I will post one of my favorite Bob Marley song's of all time "Waiting In Vain"
