Star A Star Riddim

Riddims I Endorse Right Now

So Mishigan and I was having a conversation about the state of music right now....riddims are being released daily without any real impact.  A riddim comes out today and by next week, it's onto the next one.  So just to let you guys know some of the riddims I am feeling right now which may not be creating a 'hype' so to speak:

Cleara Riddim- I covered it here on WYRAS awhile bag. Love this riddim.  Features Mavado, I-Octane, Khago among others.

Turn It Up I also covered this awhile back.  Riddim produced by Dave Kelly featuring Baby Cham, Timberlee, Bounty Killa, Pinchers

In addition right now I like the Bus Stop Riddim...the I-Octane on the riddim is crazzzzzyyyy, the Bugle to! Check it out:

Next Riddim is StarBucks Riddim by Gappy Ranks Hot Coffee Music feeling the Bugle, Gyptian, Gappy Ranks, Mr Lexx

Finally is the Red & Black Riddim the songs that stand out to me are Mavado, Khago, Blak Ryno & Gyptian

I am not forcing my opinion, but just exposing people to some songs/riddims that may not get as much airplay in a dance etc. Enjoy!  Smooches

Mr Lexx- The Bomma

Mr Lexx-The Bomma- Madd Outta Road Riddim

Produced by LionFace Records on The Madd Outta Road Riddim

Mr Lexx No Longer Signed to VP

In a BBM blast just sent by Mr Lexx, the artiste announced that he is no longer signed to VP and will be focusing on his new label JiggyHouse Productions:

I am no longer signed to VP Records. I just want to use this medium to express my gratitude to the VP family who recognized my talent and worked with me for 10 years. Although things didn't turn out the way we wanted it, it was a great pleasure working with you, I am about to start a new chapter in my career and it is in both parties interest that we go our separate ways. I will now focus on my own label (Jiggyhouse Productions) and my artistes that are signed to it, as we plan to continue making the good music that we are known for. Thanks again and Stay Blessed Rockstar Dag Diggy...Mr. Lexx

WYRAS definitely wishes Mr Lexx success on his future ventures, and many more years off success and music!

Out the Gate

Its been awhile since we've had a good Jamaican movie out.  Well Out the Gate is coming.  The Hollywood Premiere will take place at the Royal Theatre in Los Angeles on January 13 2011.  The film stars Jamaican acting veterans Oliver Samuels and Paul Campbell, as well as Everton Dennis, who is the star of the film.  Out the Gate tells the story of Dennis who leaves Jamaica to pursue a music career in the United States.  The film which is shot on location in Clarendon, Jamaica, and Los Angeles will have showings at the Laemmle Sunset 5 theatre in Hollywood on January 14th and 15th, and is slated for showings in NY, London, Toronto and Miami.  The soundtrack will feature new as well as previously released tracks from Beenie Man, Mr Lexx, Turbulence, Jadakiss and more.  For more info log on to http://www.outthegatemovie.com/

Bad Suh Riddim

From time to time I hear a riddim and it really grabs my attention. Last riddim to do that for me was "Rail Up Riddim" this past summer. Well now we have the appropriately entitled "Bad Suh Riddim". The riddim produced by Washroom Entertainment features songs from the likes of Busy Signal, Tami Chynn, Tifa, Mr Lexx, Voicemail, among others. The one that caught my ear initially was Tami Chynn "Neva Know (Wicked Inna Bed)" This song was definitely an unexpected surprise from Tami as it shows her sexier side. Mr Lexx as always is repping for the hot girls with 'Gyal Yuh Hot'. Busy Signal never disappoints and his song "Wine Up (Nah Pop Dung)" is no exception. This riddim is definitely a waistline mover. This is the type of riddim I wish I could hear more of in dances in NY. But is like soundman fraid fi play new tune...but thats another topic. Anyway check it out, you won't be disappointed. Smooches from Hotlipps.
